Danish Crown is currently seeking an experienced Category Manager to build and execute the category strategies and drive value creation in close collaboration with strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Danish Crown Group Procurement & Logistics is a newly combined department where you find skilled logistics colleagues in Procurement as well as Group Logistics.

As a core team member, you will create road category strategies and support value creation and optimization across eight business units.

You take ownership of your own category
In this position we search for a self-driven Category Manager, who can lead the distribution category within our global road category. With steady hands you take the lead in defining and implementing category strategies aligned to business needs - and deliver on both value and ESG targets for the category.

Your primary tasks will be:

• Develop a strategy for your category together with your stakeholders
• Independently plan and execute the strategy for the category
• Define business objectives and create business cases
• Prepare tender materials and complete supplier negotiations
• Implement sourcing projects in your category with support from our Sourcing PMO where relevant
• Develop and optimize the category and the supplier relations
• Conduct complex data analysis
• Drive supplier relationship management on selected strategic suppliers

As Category Manager you have a natural data driven approach; you gather and evaluate facts and engage internal stakeholders to define the business objectives, relevant projects and strategies.

You will be key responsible for all negotiations within the category, taking the lead on the entire process from business case and tender materials to the final contract. The process will also be supported by your skilled colleagues making sure everything from data to legal matters is correct.

The position involves working with various internal and external stakeholders to facilitate cooperation across teams and business areas.

Primary working place is at Danish Crown’s HQ in Randers.

What you bring

The ideal candidate has a solid business understanding and great skills in developing and executing category strategies, Supplier Relationship Management, Category Management, Contract Management and Supplier Innovation and is highly experienced in cross-functional collaboration.

You hold a relevant Master's or Bachelor's degree.

We expect that you have:

• Several years of experience with procurement within the logistics category or similar categories
• Strong skills and a proven track record delivering solid results within Category Management, Supplier Relationship Management and Contract Management
• Experience in complex data management and have solid analytical skills
• A solid business understanding and a strategic mindset
• Experience and enjoy working with procurement models and are familiar with Power BI, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Communicate effortlessly in English and Danish; both oral and written

Furthermore, you work data driven with a strategic focus and have experience with complex data management.

As a person you are result-oriented and strong-willed with a high level of energy and an optimistic mind.
